Effective date: July 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how PacketSafari handles personal data when you use our website, analyzer, AI-assisted features, support channels, and related services.
PacketSafari is operated by Ripka Technologies S.L.
- Address: Calle Peris Brell 7 Trip Bajo, 46022 Valencia, Spain
- Support: PacketSafari support
- Email: contact@packetsafari.com
- Terms: Terms of Service
1. Scope
This policy applies to PacketSafari's cloud-hosted website and services, including account registration, packet capture upload and analysis, billing, support, Copilot, Agent workflows, and related product surfaces.
Some deployments of PacketSafari are customer-managed or on-premises. In those cases, the customer may control parts of the hosting, retention, authentication, audit, or AI configuration. This policy still describes our role where we operate or support the service, but customer-specific agreements may also apply.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
Account and profile information
When you create an account or contact us, we may collect information such as:
- email address;
- username;
- password or authentication credentials;
- billing or account status information; and
- profile or workspace information you choose to provide.
Billing information
If you purchase a paid plan, billing and subscription information may be processed through our payment provider. We may receive subscription, transaction, plan, invoice, or customer-reference data needed to activate and manage your access. We do not need to store full payment card details in PacketSafari itself.
Uploaded content and analysis data
PacketSafari is built to process packet captures and related artifacts. Depending on how you use the service, we may process:
- packet capture files and related uploaded files;
- metadata, tags, comments, notes, and annotations;
- extracted protocol, indexing, search, and analysis results;
- decryption-related uploads or supporting material; and
- exports, reports, or generated summaries.
Uploaded network data can contain personal data, confidential traffic, credentials, secrets, or regulated information. You are responsible for ensuring you are permitted to upload and analyze that material.
AI interaction data
If you use PacketSafari Copilot, Agent, or other AI-assisted features, we may process:
- prompts and instructions you submit;
- selected packet context and analysis results sent to the model workflow;
- model outputs, drafts, and transcripts; and
- feature telemetry needed to operate, secure, and improve those workflows.
When cloud AI features are enabled, relevant request content may be sent to our configured AI provider. In customer-managed or on-prem deployments, AI traffic may instead be sent to a customer-configured OpenAI-compatible endpoint.
Support and communications
If you contact support, request onboarding help, or use product communication flows, we may process:
- your email address and contact details;
- support messages and attachments;
- account, billing, or deployment context needed to respond; and
- correspondence history.
Marketing preferences
If you separately choose to receive PacketSafari product news, technical guidance, or offers, we record your email address, consent choice, the wording/version shown to you, the collection source, and relevant audit metadata. Product marketing is optional and is not required to create an account, request an evaluation, receive a requested report, or use core service functionality.
Technical, security, and usage data
We may collect technical and operational data needed to run the service, such as:
- IP address;
- browser and device information;
- log, audit, and request metadata;
- authentication and session events;
- upload, download, and feature-usage events; and
- system diagnostics and error reports.
Browser storage
PacketSafari uses cookies, local storage, and session storage for authentication, CSRF protection, consent state, preferences, and client-side workflow state. See Cookies and Local Storage.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal data to:
- create and manage accounts;
- provide upload, analysis, search, export, billing, and support features;
- operate Copilot, Agent, and other AI-assisted workflows;
- secure the service, detect abuse, investigate incidents, and maintain audit trails;
- communicate with you about your account, transactions, support requests, and product changes;
- respond to evaluation, demonstration, sales, or technical-discussion requests you submit;
- send product marketing only where you have opted in or another documented legal basis applies;
- comply with legal obligations; and
- maintain, troubleshoot, and improve PacketSafari.
We do not need your permission to use personal data when that processing is necessary to provide the service you requested, secure the platform, comply with law, or pursue legitimate operational interests in a proportionate way. Where consent is required, we rely on that consent.
4. Legal Bases
Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we generally rely on one or more of the following:
- performance of a contract with you;
- legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving PacketSafari;
- compliance with legal obligations; and
- your consent, where consent is the appropriate basis.
We treat account verification, security alerts, billing notices, requested reports, and responses to requests you submit as service or transactional communications. We keep optional product marketing separate. You may withdraw marketing consent at any time without losing access to PacketSafari or affecting requested service communications.
5. How We Share Information
We may share personal data with:
- service providers and subprocessors that help us operate PacketSafari;
- payment, email, hosting, or AI providers involved in the requested feature;
- customer administrators in customer-managed or workspace-managed environments, where access control, audit, billing, or support responsibilities require it;
- professional advisers, legal authorities, or counterparties where necessary to comply with law or protect rights and safety; and
- a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or asset sale.
We do not publish private uploaded content to the public website unless the product configuration or your explicit actions make that content public.
For our current verified vendor list, see Subprocessors.
6. International Transfers
PacketSafari infrastructure and service providers may process data in more than one country. International processing may occur when required for hosting, billing, email delivery, or cloud AI features.
Where required, we rely on contractual and organizational safeguards appropriate to the transfer.
7. Retention
We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the service, enforce agreements, resolve disputes, maintain security records, meet legal obligations, and operate backups and recovery processes.
Retention can vary depending on:
- plan and deployment type;
- customer configuration;
- support or incident history;
- billing and tax obligations;
- audit and security requirements; and
- deletion requests and legal exceptions.
Deleting an account or requesting erasure may not immediately remove all data from backups, logs, or legally required records.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including authentication controls, transport security, audit logging, access controls, and operational monitoring.
No system can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting account credentials and uploading data only where you have authority to do so.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have rights to:
- access personal data;
- correct inaccurate data;
- delete personal data;
- restrict or object to processing;
- receive a portable copy of applicable data; and
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
For a concise rights summary and request path, see GDPR and Data Rights.
10. Children
PacketSafari is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly provide accounts to children under 13.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
12. Contact
Questions, access requests, deletion requests, and privacy concerns may be sent through support or by email to contact@packetsafari.com.
